Sappho

Based on a fresco of the 1st century AD (Archaeological Museum of Naples), which is known as the "La Gioconda of Antiquity".

Beautiful thoughtful face of a young woman with a feather at her lips and a wax tablet in her hands.

Her poems were inspired by Virginia Woolf, Plato, Baudelaire, Lord Byron.

She was born on an island open to all cultures, all influences. She led her Academy in the manner of Platonov, where dance, music, poetry and literature were taught. She choreographed, composed music, created new rhythms and meters for singing and dancing, accompanied by a flute or lyre, she herself was an excellent dancer.

The glory of Sappho, the myth of Sappho, the phenomenon of Sappho, whom Plato called the Tenth Muse, have survived to this day, despite the fact that her work comes to us in fragments.

The phrase "the tenth muse" has now become a common homage to eminent female poets.
